JANSSEN CLAIMS 47TH NATIONAL VICTORY AT SUNSET RIDGE
(Walnut, Illinois. May 24, 2026) – Nestled in the heart of America, Sunset Ridge MX in Walnut, Illinois, is one of the most picturesque motocross facilities in the nation. For Midwest motocross families, it’s a “home race” of sorts, no matter what coordinates you hail from. For four-time National Champion and Wisconsin native Cody Janssen, the Sunset Ridge ATV Motocross National has been his “home race” for the past 20 consecutive years — and the 2026 event was no different.
Competing in his second national race of the 2026 season, following a nip-and-tuck runner-up finish at Ironman, Janssen delivered a perfect 1-1 performance in the always-competitive 25+ Class. The victory was the 47th National event victory of his career, and one he was proud to share with his family on the three-year anniversary of his father’s stroke.
“For the 47th time, we traveled to an ATV National event and left with a win. I remember the first one like it was yesterday, and somehow the latest feels exactly the same after all these years. Now more than ever, I rely on the people around me. My day job and life responsibilities don’t leave me with much free time, but with my wife and my parents helping pick up the slack, we’re still able to get to these races and put in a winning effort. Thank you to my loved ones, the supporters who continue backing me, and the Sunset Ridge crew for an unforgettable weekend! Perfect weekend — ready for more!” Janssen posted to his official social media accounts.
Standing on top of the podium wasn’t the only thing Cody Janssen was up to at Sunset Ridge, as his Digging Deep ATVMX Podcast hosted a live show right at the track featuring special guests ATV racing legend “Digger” Doug Gust, AMA ATV Pro Class Moto 1 winner Brandon Hoag, and regular race review podcast guest Brian Jenkins of Wheelz Up. The live show added to the unforgettable nature of the weekend, and Janssen expressed his gratitude to the fans who continue to support the Digging Deep ATVMX Podcast, which has grown into one of the sport’s most respected platforms.
As always, Cody extends his sincere gratitude to the many companies, partners, family members, and supporters who make his program possible. Leading the way are Yamaha Outdoors, Wienen Motorsports, PEP Performance Tuning, and Paul Turner for their unmatched support and guidance. Additional thanks go to longtime partners SSI Decals, CST Tires, Valvoline, Elka Suspension, FMF Racing, and All Balls Racing Group. Janssen also thanks his parents, wife Brooke, mechanic Dan Binder, and the entire Janssen Motorsports crew for their unwavering support. Special appreciation goes to GPS Offroad Products, E-Z UP Instant Shelters, Klink Equipment and Klink Hydraulics, Jay Gobel at Impact Solutions, Hinson Clutch Components, Thor MX, Parts Unlimited, D.I.D Chain, Atlas Brace, Cliff Cox, Precision Powder LLC, Bell Helmets, 100% Goggles, DT1 Filters, Larry Mills and DP Brakes, Rath Racing, Walsh RaceCraft, Fourwerx Carbon, Sunstar Sprockets, Works Connection, Renthal, Pro-Tec Racing, B.C.C. Skids, Evans Waterless Powersports Coolant, Blenders Eyewear, Rocket Machining and Design, Rocky Mountain ATV/MC, producer Dallas Janssen, and the many others whose continued support keeps the dream alive. A special thank you also goes to Matt Rowe and the Rowe family for allowing the team to borrow a trailer for the weekend.
Next up is ATV Motocross’ first-ever trip to the highly regarded Baja Acres in Millington, Michigan, on the weekend of July 25-26. See you there!
